Le Dune in Sardinia, Italy
The Mediterranean island of Sardinia is home to the most expensive hotel in Europe, according to a recent survey from French travel website allovoyages.fr. The survey compared luxury hotels based on their average price for a standard double room this summer.
With a rate averaging 2400 euros nightly, the Le Dune hotel, located on the Sardinian southwestern coast in Santa Margherita di Pula, clearly tops the ranking. Snagging the runner-up spot is La Réserve Paris, located directly across from the Eiffel Tower. An overnight rate of 1900 euros put it in the number two slot on the survey.
Another four hotels located in Sardinia landed in the Top 10. They include the Villa del Parco, which neighbors the Le Dune, and three hotels located in the elite seaside resort of Porto Cervo.
Following are the 10 most expensive hotels in Europe for the time period spanning July 1 through August 31, 2015. The rates listed are based on the average price for a standard double room.
